Lesson Policies

Payment

Payment is required at the time of booking. Your lesson is not confirmed until payment is received. For lesson packages, full payment is collected upfront. Payments are processed securely by Stripe — all major cards accepted.

Cancellations & No-Shows

• No-show: If you do not show up for your scheduled lesson, the lesson is forfeited. No refund, no make-up.
• Cancellation within 24 hours: The lesson is forfeited. A make-up may be offered at my discretion in genuine emergency situations.
• Cancellation with more than 24 hours notice: You may reschedule. Make-up lessons must be completed within 30 days of the original lesson date.
• Emergencies: Genuine emergencies (hospitalization, family emergency, etc.) are handled at my discretion. I'm happy to be flexible when it's warranted.

Rescheduling Limit

Each lesson may be rescheduled once. Additional reschedules for the same lesson are treated as a cancellation and the lesson is forfeited.

Make-Up Lessons

Make-up lessons must be scheduled within 30 days of the missed lesson. After 30 days, the lesson is forfeited. Make-ups are subject to availability.

Lesson Expiration

Lesson packages must be used within 8 months of purchase. Unused lessons expire after that date.

Lateness

If you arrive late, you will receive the remainder of your scheduled time. The lesson still ends at its original time.

Refunds & Withdrawing

All payments are non-refundable. If you pay for a lesson, you will either attend it or reschedule it according to the policy above.

If you've purchased a package and need to stop lessons — whether due to injury, a change in circumstances, or simply deciding it's not for you — reach out and we'll have a conversation. I'm not going to hold your money hostage. We'll find a fair way to part ways.

Online Lessons

Online and in-person lessons are priced the same. For online lessons, you are responsible for having:

• A reliable internet connection
• A computer or tablet with Zoom installed
• A quiet space with minimal distractions
• Wired headphones (Bluetooth causes delay that makes lessons difficult)
• Your instrument tuned and ready before the lesson starts

Location

I do not travel to students' homes. All in-person lessons take place at my Calgary studio — the exact address is shared once your lesson is confirmed.

Teacher Cancellations

If I need to cancel a lesson, you will be offered a rescheduled time or a credit. You will never be charged for a lesson I cancel.

Practice Expectations

Lessons assume some practice between sessions. Consistent practice is what drives progress — students who don't practice will see slower results.
